Contemplation
Now
I Ching · Archetypal Polarity
The transformative power of pure presence — contemplation that sees clearly because it dwells entirely in the now. This gate embodies awareness without agenda, acting only from genuine recognition of what the moment requires.
The shadow is absence — escaping into anxieties about the future or regrets about the past, leaving the body vacant and reactive rather than responsive.
Living on the surface of experience. Busyness and distraction prevent you from dropping into the depth of the present moment.
Quiet confidence from being fully present. When you are completely here, there is nothing to prove and nothing to defend.
Total absorption in the eternal now. Presence so complete that the one who is present disappears, leaving only pure experience of being.

"Contemplate before you act. The offering is being prepared but has not yet been made. This is the moment of clear seeing."
