Pushing Upward
Determination
I Ching · Archetypal Polarity
A love affair with the physical body and its capacity for serendipity — trusting that being in the right place at the right time is not luck but alignment. Determination here is not will, but surrender to perfect timing.
The shadow is seriousness — treating life as a grim chore to be pushed through, forgetting the body and entirely missing the serendipity that comes from a relaxed, joyful posture.
Treating life as a grim chore. The body is neglected or overworked, disconnected from the joy that is its birthright.
Rediscovery of the body as a temple of joy. Delight arises when you stop pushing and allow your physical being to guide you.
The body becomes a vessel for divine rapture. Physical existence experienced as a continuous miracle — every sensation a gateway to the sacred.
