How do two charts get compared?
Synastry lays one chart over another on the same wheel and reads the angles between them. The same aspects and orbs apply — only now the two ends belong to different people.
Your Moon to their Saturn, their Venus to your Mars, your Ascendant against their Sun. Each contact describes one specific thread of the connection rather than the connection as a whole.
Synastry describes texture: where things flow, where they catch, what each person keeps reaching for. It does not rate couples or predict outcomes, and it applies just as usefully to a business partner, a sibling, or a boss.
Most of what is written about synastry assumes a love affair. The technique is indifferent to that — a parent and child, two colleagues, or two friends produce exactly the same measurable contacts, read for a different purpose.
